We’re so chuffed to have successfully completed our challenge! We walked the London Underground Circle Line for Northern Lights Children’s Charity.
From across the country, The Inform Team met up at Kings Cross to tread the streets of London – in the pouring rain – to accomplish our goal. We wanted to fulfill a wish…to raise enough money to send one child with a life-limiting illness on a very special holiday to Lapland, to meet Father Christmas. This was an extra special challenge as one of our colleagues, Karen Jones, was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen in June to honour her services to the charity.
Here’s our story in numbers:
- We completed the challenge on Saturday 22nd September 2018.
- We walked 17.5 miles of the London Underground Circle Line route, passing 27 stations along the way.
- 12 of us took part.
- It took us just over 7 hours to complete the challenge.
- We raised £2,970, smashing our £2,500 target.
- 74 people kindly sponsored us. Thank you!
From challenge kick-off to completion we stuck to our motto – Excite, Equip, Embed™!
We got everyone excited with a challenge brand, regularly communicated with team members so they knew what to expect and what they had to do, and we rallied support through blog posts, newsletters and social media. We equipped the challenge team with a training plan, preparation list and the route well in advance, so they had the confidence to participate.
To embed the challenge, our chief Emma was a visible leader throughout and on challenge day she stayed upfront ensuring everyone stuck to the plan and timings. Sam, our other chief, held up the rear on the day to encourage team members and help them stay on track. One of our change managers, Hels, project managed the day and one of our trainers, Mark, played navigator and pace-maker. We know it takes a team effort to achieve your goal🙂
We also revelled in our success by sharing our milestones along the way on the day through social media. And, so we don’t forget our experience and what we achieved, we’ve produced a vlog. Watch some of the highlights from our challenge.
