Our Roc Technologies case study:

We partner with Roc Technologies – a fast-growing transformation service provider – to deliver end-to-end technology programmes, to large organisations going through complex change. Roc was established at the same time as The Inform Team in 2013, but our relationship goes back well over 15 years from our previous working lives.

Who is Roc?

Roc takes a unique approach to technology transformation. It’s developed its own methodologies to capture and optimise an organisation’s business processes, so it can create bespoke technology solutions that accelerate and drive change cost-effectively. The methodology, known as ATLAS, ensures best-practice project management and programme delivery for cloud services, enterprise networking, workforce collaboration, skills resourcing and managed services. This is all underpinned by agile working, whereby teams are mobilised rapidly to manage and roll-out the technology change.

Roc has experience in a magnitude of industries – including the aviation, defence, education, financial services, government, insurance, life science, pharmaceutical and public sectors.

“We pride ourselves on our success in working in highly sensitive and secure environments. For example, we’re technically proven in our ability to control mobile access and location services in organisations where national security is at stake.”

Matt Franklin, CEO, Roc Technologies

Why we do it together

Roc chose to partner with Inform as we have complimentary capabilities, so together we can offer a full-service technology change offering. Roc delivers the new technology solution to an organisation and we embed the change with its people. The benefit is, we align the technology with the user community and ensure user acceptance and adoption.

By joining up with Inform we really are a step ahead of the competition. Both teams have the proven credentials to successfully navigate complex change and we are all firm believers in underpinning what we do with a simple yet effective methodology.

“We also go back a long way, so we know each other’s strengths and we never compete for the same space. With a history of trust and collaborative working, we’ve built a common set of beliefs and values, that puts the client at the heart of our decisions and actions, so they get a great outcome,”  commented Franklin.

Our partnership isn’t a static one either, with both of our organisations continuing to expand its service offerings. We recently added ‘Establish’ to our change management approach, which focuses on governance, best-practice and cascade models to help manage and engrain change within an organisation. Whilst Roc recently acquired Esteem Systems, a datacentre, cloud and managed services specialist. With our growing portfolios, we’re working on how we can integrate our new offerings into our partnership proposition.

Who we’ve done it for

We’ve worked on numerous technology transformation programmes together, particularly in the aviation, public and education sectors. One organisation who benefited from our co-working was The University of Law on its Future IT (FIT) programme.

Roc delivered a network upgrade – including the improvement of WiFi across the campuses – and the deployment of Microsoft Office 365 to students and staff, so they had a better IT experience. And, we connected the students and staff to the technology through our change management and technology adoption approach – Establish, Excite, Equip, Embed™.

We mobilised an engagement team made up of a change management strategist, project manager, copywriter, graphic designer, trainers and administrators to support the programme. Once we’d completed our discovery groundwork and established the strategy, we excited students and staff by developing a FIT brand and executed a vibrant marketing communications campaign. Users were also trained on the technology, so they were equipped with the skills and knowledge to make the most of it and to ensure a return on the investment made by the university. Finally, we embedded the change within the organisation by supporting key stakeholders, so no-one went back to the old way of working.

Why Inform & Roc?

With many successful technology change programmes in our joint back-pockets, we get so much joy in working with Roc.

Roc makes us stronger at what we do, as they have the technical answers and expertise that we can map our change management proposition and strategy against; meaning the client gets a single packaged solution. They know their stuff and go out of their way to do the best for their clients – to whom, we’re one team,” said Samantha Kinstrey, Founder and Director, The Inform Team.

Luckily for us, Roc thinks highly of us too…

What sets Inform apart is their ability to take a complex technology transformation project and make it real for the end user. They always strive to connect people to the technology, so the end users become curious about the change and willing to give the new way – and the technology – a go.

They have a demonstrable track record, are credible and reliable, so you never have to worry about the work that they’ll produce for us or the client,” said Franklin.

As experts in change, we and Roc know that however much you invest in technology, it’s not going to work if it’s not right for the people in an organisation. That’s why we both lead our propositions with the organisation and their people at the top of our thoughts. If you are interested in finding out more on how we can help you, get in touch.
